These are scans from a series of articles that appeared in Everyday Electronics magazine in 1984/85 covering the original DIY Alfred. The electrics are discrete TTL so are not really relevant to the commercial version, which used a Z8 processor. Interesting to view though, and the mechanics info is still relevant for the later model.
