I've found that pictures of the Armdroid II are almost non-existant. So the first thumbnail links to a shot I saved some time back and seems to be no longer available on the Web - I hope the originators don't mind me reproducing it here. It illustrates the Armdroid II's distinctive two-tone colour scheme (the original picture caption says it was taken at the 'Robot Olympics 1999').

The rest of the thumbnails link to pictures of an Armdroid 1 taken by eBay UK seller nickbot. They are reproduced here and elsewhere on the site with his permission but remain © Nick Botterill.

You'll see from some of the shots that this particular Armdroid has had 4-channels of limit sensors fitted too (the white wires) - i.e. magnets fixed into pre-formed gearwheel slots, the magnets triggering reed switches mounted close by. The final shot, of some broken teeth on the main slew gear, also reveals the magnet fixed in its slot and the encased detector mounted close to the gear rim. The limit detector kit was an optional extra available from Colne Electronics.
