These thumbnails link to higher-res pictures of my Atlas. They aren't great quality as they were taken quickly just after I acquiring it and before I started to strip it down for cleaning and overhaul - hence the dust etc. Note how the second shot reveals the serial number or build number (380) stamped beneath the rear coverplate, while the seventeenth shot shows the 'official' serial number label (AO 1111). In all these shots, the top cover and side panels with heavy counterweights have been removed.

The two shots of the teach pendant show it before and after reconditioning. An original switch on the pendant had obviously broken at some point and been replaced by a bodged on item - the red switch button being lost in the process. eBay threw up an old L.J.Electronics 'Emma 6502' add-on module (a traffic-light simulator) that predictably used the same type of buttons and switches. I was able to mildly cannibalise the module to bring the pendant back to its original state. (I reckoned the pendant's need was greater ;-)

The final shot shows two other items that would normally have been supplied as part of the Atlas 'work cell'. The load cell used a strain gauge to measure the weight of objects placed on its load plate by Atlas. The power distribution box allowed the various modules to draw power from a common power supply unit.

If you've taken any interesting pictures of an Atlas arm or its associated components, email them to me - beebcontrol at anf nildram co uk - and I'll feature them on these pages with a suitable credit.
